We’ve moved back into the Duck House until we leave, so we’re very excited to stay put in the same place for a few weeks straight. The kids seem to be emotionally attached to this place.
Jeremy and I had a wonderful get away in Leavenworth to celebrate my birthday. I’m officially old enough for it to be impolite to ask me how old I am. ☺ Leavenworth is a little Bavarian town nestled in the mountains. We stayed at a really cute Bavarian hotel that was small enough it was almost like a bed and breakfast. It was decorated European style. We had our first and only nice day of weather while we were there (in the 70’s!!) so it added to the magicalness of the day, so did the huge waffle cone I had that I didn’t have to share with anyone. Ford and Erin watched the kids and they all had a great time. They ventured out to the zoo and had a very successful time.
I’ve been feeling a lot better and since I’m at 15 weeks now, hope I’m over the worst of it. Now, I’m just tired all the time. ☺ Somewhere around child number 3, I stopped getting that 2nd trimester burst of energy.
We’ve done Sonship and The Holy Spirit week since I last wrote. This is the first time we’ve included the Sonship talk and it was such a perfect fit. It came on the heels of the Lordship week and being able to dive into our identity as sons and daughters after we’ve confessed Lordship has a profound impact. The Holy Spirit talk went really well and our training group was super excited to realize that we don’t have to do this life on our own. We don’t have to control our anger, be patient with our kids, make ethical decisions all on our own strength. It’s not just daunting, it’s impossible. Calling on the Holy Spirit, the helper that Jesus said we would be better off with than Him, is the only way to conquer our flesh. He is made perfect in our weakness.
School with the kids has been going really well. They’re keeping positive attitudes and are making great headway in Latin. Sydney is the farthest in that. ☺
Janet, Jeremy’s mom, arrived on Monday for a 2 week visit. Jerry should be arriving as we speak. I wonder if his flight is delayed b/c the snow is really coming down. I can hardly see across the lake!
Enjoy the pictures below!
- Grace, Erin, Kami (and Eli1) get together every Wednesday morning to midrash Proverbs 31. Very stimulating!
- Detectives Kelsey and Jackson playing with the super spy kit Jackson earned with his marbles.
- Jer taking a picture of us in Leavenworth with the gorgeous mountains in the background.
- This is a shot of the main street in Leavenworth to give you a little idea of it’s quaintness.
- I didn’t recognize the Starbucks in it’s Bavarian font!
- Kami and I have our birthdays a day apart (and a few years) and Ford and Erin made sure there was a cake at the gathering on Saturday.
- We dared to shove 7 of the 8 cousins in 1 van for the 2 block ride to the Jone’s since we were down one minivan.
- That expresion says it all. Some of my favorite Elisa sayings lately are, “Let me in! It’s me, Elisa!” “Come on mom, let’s get out of here.” “You so prettiful mom.” “That’s enough guys! You hear me?!”
- The snow that has fallen just since I’ve been writing this!
- Sydney trying to catch flakes on her tongue!

What a cute village, April! The town looks like something out of Europe. You guys must have had such a fun time! I can’t believe the snow out year. We were all in shorts yesterday enjoying the sunshine…what is that a winter coat I see? Wow, yeah, you guys are really missing out! The kids are so cute…..and how serious the super secret spy detectives are. Matthew is going to look forward to playing his super secret spy lasers with them! We miss you guys!
Happy Birthday!!! I’m so glad you had a wonderful waffle cone all to yourself and a fun birthday trip:)
Snow?!?!!!! NOOOOO …doesn’t snow know that it’s spring?!!
hahaha …enjoy! It won’t be long before we’ll be wishing we had snow again:)
I love Elisa’s newest sayings……especially “that’s enough guys, I mean it!!” too cute.
…loving you from the east coast.
